Community Outreach

Embrace Gratitude. Enjoy Community.

Veteran's Funeral Specialist firms have a passion to "provide healing experiences for the community." Throughout the year, our locations across the country host outreach programs to honor, recognize, and remember those who have fought to preserve and protect our freedom. Not only do we find importance in serving our Veterans, but we also believe in serving their families as well. Every outreach and seminar is open to all Veterans and their families throughout the community. It is one simple way we can give back to those who have given so much.

Following are just a few of the types of outreach events available near you. Each location offers varying events. For more information about community events in your area, contact us at:  1-888-788-7526.

  • Memorial Day Celebration - VFS affiliates work tirelessly to create an unforgettable ceremony to recognize, respect, and remember Veterans that have served our country.  The ceremony is followed with a celebration involving food and fellowship with other community members.
  • Champions of Freedom Appreciation Luncheon - This luncheon is provided to Veterans within the community. A guest speaker presents, and all Veterans are asked to bring memorabilia to the event. Here they have the opportunity to meet other Veterans in the community and share their story.
  • LifeSteps™…stepping forward, remembering always Healing Outreach is a unique five-week outreach that takes place at educational facilities throughout the communities that VFS locations serve. Topics for the course provide useful knowledge to assist with personal wellness, safety, financial security, travel, and healthy eating. LifeSteps was created to help individuals move forward in their lives after the death of a loved one.
  • Support Groups - VFS support groups were created to help community members work through their personal grieving process. Two examples of this include the Scrappy Angels Community Quilt Group and the Health Matters Walking Club. Support groups vary by location.
