How we can help you.
Veterans Funeral Specialist firms and their employees use their attention to detail and years of combined experience along with utilizing resources from our other firms to set us apart from any other Veterans organizations in the industry.
Veterans Funeral Specialist is not just a network of funeral homes working together to honorably serve our deceased veterans, but a close knit family of associates whose main goal is 100% satisfaction when serving veterans and their families.
All firms adhere to a set of 5 “Standards” that have been implemented so that each family is served to the highest level of excellence. These “Standards” we live by are not options they are privileges and we consider ourselves honored to be able to assist your family in obtaining all necessary benefits available.
Standard 1
Every veteran unless under certain conditions is entitled to a United States Burial Flag as a tribute to your loved ones faithful service to this country. A Funeral Director will assist you in filing the necessary VA Form 21-2008 (Application for United States Flag for Burial Purposes) to obtain the flag.
Standard 2
Every veteran unless under certain conditions is eligible for a government headstone, marker, or medallion. A Funeral Director will assist you in filing VA Form 40-1330 (Application for Standard Government Headstone or Marker) to obtain your government maker. We will also educate you on your options to personalize your marker with religious symbols, a special personal message and vital information.
Standard 3
To further honor the memory of our fallen comrades, every Veterans Funeral Specialist firm will apply for a Presidential Memorial Certificate on behalf of the family. A PMC is an engraved paper certificate signed by the current President of the United States to honor the memory of honorably discharged veterans. Your Funeral Director will file the necessary VA Form 40-0247 (Presidential Memorial Certificate Request Form) to obtain the certificate on your behalf. You have the choice to order multiple certificates that way each member of your family can share in the memory of their loved ones service to this country.
Standard 4
Depending if your deceased loved one meets eligibility requirements they may be entitled to veterans benefits on the Federal and County level. Your Funeral Director will assist you in filing VA Form 21-530 (Application for Burial Benefits) to get you the benefits that you may qualify for. Also your Funeral Director will be able to educate you on what benefits are available to you and how much you may be entitled to. County benefits vary in the amount of compensation you may receive. Check with your Funeral Director or local veteran’s office for more information.
Standard 5
